Frequently asked questions
How do I sign in and sync my memories?
Sign in with Apple in LumaMemo. Check that iCloud is signed in on your iPhone, iCloud access for LumaMemo is enabled, and you have enough available iCloud storage. Connect to the internet and reopen the app. If content is missing, contact support before uninstalling the app or deleting local data.
Can I use the app offline?
Locally saved content can be accessed offline. Cloud sync, invitations, and shared updates need a connection. Map coverage depends on available map data. Unsynced content may exist only on your current device.
Why does LumaMemo need location access?
Location connects memories to places and supports journey recording, shared trips, and location-based capsules. Background location is used when you actively start a journey that needs continuous recording. End recording in the app, or change access in iOS Settings.
How do I manage camera, photo, and microphone access?
Open iPhone Settings → Apps → LumaMemo and check the relevant permissions. Photos and the camera add media to memories; the microphone records audio; speech recognition can turn audio into searchable text. You can use unrelated features without granting these permissions.
When can I open a time capsule?
A capsule opens when its configured time or location condition is met. For location capsules, check location access and that you are near the chosen place. Notifications are optional reminders; you can check capsule status directly in the app.
How do I restore a purchase or cancel a subscription?
Use Restore Purchases on the membership screen and the Apple Account used for the original purchase. To manage or cancel a subscription, open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting your LumaMemo account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple handles payments and refund requests.
How do I delete my account?
In LumaMemo, open Privacy & Account → Delete Account, then complete Apple reauthentication and the confirmation steps. The app attempts to delete your private CloudKit data, shared or public records you own and can delete, and local caches. Other users’ saved copies may remain. If a stage fails due to connectivity, use the retry option. Cancel any Apple subscription separately. Contact support if you cannot access your account.
How do I report content, block a user, or request my data?
Use the report, hide, block, or revoke-sharing controls in the app’s friend and shared-content screens. For access, correction, export, deletion, or another privacy request, email support with a brief description. We may need to verify your identity; never send your Apple password.
